NFL Confidence Pool

Rules:

Cost:  $50

Each participant picks 3 games each week, there is no point spread involved.  There are 35 points available each week.  You will indicate which of the 3 games is going to be your 20 point game, which game will be your 10 point game, and which will be your 5 point game.  If you pick the winner for the 20 point game, you get 20 points, and so on for the 10 point game and the 5 point game.  You cannot pick a team more than once in a given point slot over the course of the season.  That is, if you pick Indy as your 20 point game in the first week, you cannot pick Indy as a 20 point game for the rest of the season.  You can however pick Indy as your 10 or 5 point game for another week.  Once you have picked a team in all 3 point categories, you cannot pick them again.  You also cannot pick a team more than once in a given week, that is, you cannot pick NE for your 20 pt game and your 10 pt game in the same week.

There is a bit of forgiveness in this Pool.  You are allowed to have 1 bad week and not have it count against your total points.  Everyone’s worst week’s score will be thrown out and not count.  So, in the end, it is your top 17 of 18 weeks that will make up your point total.

Any picks submitted after each week’s deadline, will not be accepted.  Instead, you will receive the home teams (sorted alphabetically) for your 20pt, 10pt and 5pt games in that order.  For example, in the first week, if you don’t get your picks submitted in time, you would receive the following:  20 pt – Atlanta, 10 pt – Buffalo, 5 pt – Chicago.

Pick deadline: picks are due by Noon on the day of the first game of the week.

Prize Money:

The prize money will be distributed approximately as follows:

·         1st – 50%

·         2nd – 30%

·         3rd – 20%

·         4th – $50

·         5th – $50

·         6th – $50

Tie-breaker:

In the event of any ties, your worst week that wasn’t being counted will then be taken into account to break the tie.  If there is still a tie, the person with the most perfect weeks would win.  If there is still a tie, the person with the most 30 pt weeks would win, and so on until there is a winner.  If no winner is determined by this method, the money will be split evenly.
